Garage door opener repair is just as common and needed as often as garage door repair itself. Most modern-day garage doors do not simply roll up and down manually as they once did. Nearly every homeowner has a garage door opener and relies on it daily. If your garage door opener will not work, there are a few reasons it might be occurring. The biggest reason is likely that the transmitter batteries are dead. The transmitter needs power to be able to communicate with the garage door itself. If the batteries are dead then it can’t send the necessary signal to the garage door.
You can test your transmitter by using the button that is located inside your garage. If the button inside the garage causes your door to open and close normally, then you likely have noted the issue. Your garage door opener repair will be quite simple in just changing out the battery. There are other larger issues that can take place if you notice your garage door is not functioning properly. Your photo eye could be potentially out of alignment or the track itself could be out of alignment. The track falling out of alignment can become quite dangerous. If you notice that there is an issue with your garage door, be sure to check the track for any gaps between rollers and the rail.
It is possible that your garage door opener is simply out of range as well. Garage door openers will only work so far away from home, so you want to make sure you are testing its ability to function well within range.
